What is required for my dog to stay at Annie's Ruff House?

All dogs must be at least four-months-old and current on their Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella and Canine Influenza vaccinations.  We need proof of these vaccinations having been administered by a licensed veterinarian. All dogs over six months of age must be spayed or neutered. We need to meet your dog and do a full-day demeanor test before booking any daycare or boarding stays. Also, we will ask you to sign our Pet Care Services Agreement when you drop off your dog for the first time.  You can look over this legal agreement beforehand (available at the bottom of the page) or when you come in for your scheduled demeanor test.  Appointments are required for all demeanor tests, daycare, and boarding stays and can be scheduled by calling (405) 310-3084 or through our online portal.

What is the difference between daycare and boarding?

Daycare is available Monday-Friday and involves dropping off and picking up your dog(s) on the same day.  While boarding dogs are here for the same daytime fun, they sleep in the facility overnight.  If your dog is boarding, you will only be charged for boarding even though the dog will be included in all the fun stuff that goes on at daycare too.

What is a demeanor test?

The demeanor test is a full-day appointment for your dog(s) which allows us to get a better picture of how daycare and/or boarding reservations will go.  We try dogs out in our kennels, in our play groups, and see how they react to being leashed and handled by our kennel technicians.  This test day also helps your dog(s) become acquainted with our facility.  The dogs can meet the staff, get to know some of the regular daycare and boarding dogs, and get to see you'll pick them up at the end of the day all without us having given anybody any shots!

What should I bring for my dogs' stay?

Daycare

For demeanor test dogs, bring shot records and your driver's license.  No food*, bowls, bedding, and/or toys are needed for demeanor test dogs.

Daycare

For daycare dogs, you only need to bring updated shot records if your dogs' vaccines have expired according to the last record you provided to us.  Food*, bowls, bedding, and toys are not needed for daycare dogs--they spend most of their day in groups playing with the other dogs!

*Food may be brought for young puppies still needing to eat three times a day.

Boarding

For boarding dogs, you need to bring updated shot records if your dogs' vaccines have expired according to the last record you provided to us.  We require all clients to bring preportioned, individual bags for each meal for their dog(s) in a sealable container/bag. This ensures your dog(s) have enough food for their entire stay without the risk of upset stomachs and finicky eaters. We allow personal items such as soft bedding (preferably machine-washable) and toys/bones. Please keep in mind that sometimes these things are lost or damaged, so please do not bring items with sentimental value.  No crates will be accepted.

Please ensure all dogs are wearing quick-release collars, are on leash while in the lobby and parking lot, and that the leash is controlled by an adult at all times.  We ask that if you need to use a retractable lead, make sure it is locked with the dog close to you.  (Not all dogs like each other and the lobby is an unsafe area for experimentation.)  Harnesses, buckle collars, pinch/prong collars, and choke chains will be removed to help keep playtime safe.

What time should I have my dog at Annie's Ruff House?

Daycare dogs need to be dropped off between 7:00 and 9:00 AM, Monday-Friday.  Boarding dogs can be dropped off during this time or in the afternoon between 2:00 and 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Demeanor tests are done by appointment only and you should be assigned a time to be here.  If you're dropping off on the weekend for boarding, we take dogs 7:00-9:00 AM on Saturdays and 3:00-6:00 PM on Sundays.  Dropping off during these times allows us to get your dogs outside and into play groups on time.  If something comes up and you will be late for your appointment, be sure to call and let us know.

What if my dog has a special diet or medication(s)?

We prefer clients bring their dogs' usual food, so specialty foods from home are not an issue for us!  Since we have a refrigerator on-site, we can give your dog(s) wet or homemade food.  We do not do food preparation beyond measuring and mixing, so please do any more intensive preparations before dropping off your dog(s).

As for medications, we can do most things less intensive than injections.  Make sure to provide us with any administration aids your dog(s) will need (i.e. pill pockets, peanut butter, cheese). If you have questions about your dogs' specific needs, please call into the shop to ask us.

How will I know if my dog is ok while I am gone?

We have webcams in each of our three indoor play areas.  We also try to post photos and videos on our Facebooksince the webcams are limited to their fixed positions.  While we do post things when we have time, sometimes we are busy with the dogs and cannot upload pictures and videos.  During these times you are more than welcome to call into the shop to ask how your dog is doing in the facility!
